Ileta J. McFarland

Ileta J. McFarland, 63, of Hanover, Indiana, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at Hanover Health and Rehab Center.

She was born born May 22, 1956, to William Spry and Marcella Clarkson Spry Ralston in Madison, Indiana. She was a lifetime resident of the Madison area and worked as a waitress in several local restaurants. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen M. Warren, of Madison; two sisters, Marlene Marek of Madison, and Marsha Boston of Hanover; one grandson; one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Newton W. McFarland, and one brother, William Preston Spry.

No services will be held. Interment will be at a later date in Springdale Cemetery.

Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, in Madison is in charge of arrangements.

Richard Van Wye

Richard L. Van Wye, 86, of Madison, Indiana, died Aug. 25, 2019, at his home.

He was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Dupont, Indiana, to Frank and Florence Lockridge Van Wye. He joined the Army in 1952 and served in Korea until 1955. He retired from Williamson Heater as a welder and was a member of the United Sheetmetal Union, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He also enjoyed attending Faith Covenant Church. He enjoyed fishing when he had time, vegetable gardening, and loved his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Lyle Van Wye of Madison; two sons David Van Wye of Dupont, and Kenneth Van Wye of Hanover, Indiana; one brother, Gary Van Wye of Madison; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Pamela Van Wye Bell; one son, Rick Van Wye; nine sisters, Lucy Smiley, Betty Burris, Mary Callis, Norma Bode, Bonnie Thompson, Myrle Vitale, Helen Burchfield, Carol Irwin, and Maxine Jones, and three brothers, Ronald Van Wye, Frank Van Wye, Jr., and Charles Van Wye.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, with interment to follow in Dupont Cemetery in Dupont.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday.
