Harold Dennis “Butch” Kidwell, 72, of Madison died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.

Danielle Powers

Danielle Nicole Powers, 28, of Madison died Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at University of Louisville Hospital with her parents at her side.

She was born May 23, 1990, in Madison, the daughter of Mark Edwin and Patricia Jean Rowlett Powers. She was raised in the Canaan community and she attended Madison Consolidated High School. She was a gifted intelligent young woman who could learn or develop the knowledge all on her own. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, American Baptist Girls, American Baptist Women and attended the Southeastern Indiana Baptist Youth Camp at Westport. She was a 10-year 4-H member, she loved Facebook, all social media, computers, was a Star Trek fan and loved cats. Because of her health she was a homemaker all her life. She truly loved and appreciated her University of Louisville Six South Family of nurses, caregivers and doctors who had cared for her this past year. She fought a courageous battle with colitis and ovarian cancer and she persevered the battle longer than anyone thought she could. She loved life, her family and was a devoted and faithful Christian.

She is survived by her parents of Madison; two brothers, Braxton Ryan Powers of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Coltin Drew Powers of Madison; one sister, Amber Rene Powers of Madison; her maternal grandparents, Cecil L. and Evelyn Sue Denning Rowlett of Madison; her paternal grandpa, Albert O. Powers, Sr. of Vevay; her boyfriend, Christian Dawson of Louisville; eight aunts and six uncles; 12 great-aunts and 12 great-uncles; and several cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandma, Jerrie A. Powers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery near Madison.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation or Ovarian Cancer Research or the Hebron Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral homes.
