Wilda Davis

Wilda Jo Davis, 83, of Florence, Kentucky, formerly of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in Erlanger, Kentucky.

She was born March 6, 1935, in Carrollton, to Orville and Virginia Dolby Hendricks. She had retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a market recorder in the tobacco industry after 20 years. She had formerly served as chairman and board member on the Carroll County Board of Education. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton and a member of Port Orange Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Florida.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Davis of Carrollton, Tom Davis of Union, Kentucky, and Chuck Davis of Louisville; one sister, Ann Carrico of Bedford, Kentucky; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Davis; her parents; and one brother, Raymond Hendricks.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Norma Martin

Mary McNeal

Mary Ruth Jones McNeal, 88, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born May 20, 1930, in Providence, Webster County, Kentucky, to Clay Edgar Jones and Ruth Frances Baker Jones. She worked as a Headstart Pre-School Teacher for the Carroll County School System from 1965 until 1971. She was a member of Carrollton First Baptist Church, the church choir and a Sunday school teacher. She had been a member of the Carrollton Women’s Club. In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening, golfing, sewing, crafting, cooking, singing and playing the piano.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Elam of Georgetown, Kentucky; two sons, Greg McNeal of Corunna, Indiana, and Brad McNeal of Carrollton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. McNeal; her parents; and three brothers, Lawrence Jones, Edgar Jones and George Hancock.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Carrollton.

Visitation will be at the church Saturday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service.
