Mable L. “Mickie” Murray McCalip, 87, of Vevay died Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, Indiana. Arrangements are pending at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Elbert Riley

Elbert E. Riley, 83, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died Tuesday, Dec. 4 2018, at Lake Point Village in Scottsburg.

He was born June 17, l935 in Lee County, Kentucky, to John D. and Janie Barrett Riley. He was raised in Lee County and attended school there. He moved to Scott County at the age of 18. He worked at Arvin’s in Seymour for l9 years and at Cummins Engine Company for 5 1/2 years. He also worked for the City of Scottsburg in the parks department until he became disabled in l979. He was a member of Rock of Hope Apostolic Church in Sellersburg, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, horseback riding and flea markets.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Joyce Breeden Riley of Scottsburg; three sons, Ellis Riley of Scottsburg, and Jeffrey Riley and Henry Riley, both of Seymour; one sister, Winifred Davis of Westport, Indiana; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Albert Riley; three sisters, Bessie McGuire, Marjorie Campbell, and Ann Peers; and five infant siblings.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will follow in Ryker’s Ridge New Cemetery near Madison.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Rock of Hope Apostolic Church. Cards are available at the funeral homes.

Rev. Robert Scott

The Rev. Robert “Bobby” M. Scott, 74, of Madison died Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at his home.

He was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Port Royal, Kentucky, to Ralph and Leona Scott. He retired from Williamson Manufacturing Company as a machinist after several years of service. Within the last few years, he also retired as pastor of the Broadway Baptist Church, having served the congregation for 25 years. He was a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion. He enjoyed reading and being around people and sharing the word of God.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Humes-Scott of Madison; four daughters: Delores Taylor of New Albany, Indiana, Debbie Robinson of Madison, Sonja Logsdon of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Bobbi Jo Scott of Louisville; three stepdaughters: Debra Carter of Acworth, Georgia, Shawna Walden of Evansville, Indiana, and Mary Reed of Madison; five stepsons: Charles Louis Humes, Michael Jeffrey Humes, Arthur Gibson and Brian Gibson, all of Madison, and Shawn A. Humes of Clarksville, Indiana; one sister, Mary Ann Barber of Louisville; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Perry Scott; his second wife, Priscilla Mae Gibson Scott; and his parents.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Broadway Baptist Church in Madison. Burial will follow in Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.

There will be military graveside services conducted by the Honor Guard from the United States Air Force and the Honor Guard from Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion.
