Lawrence Adams

Lawrence B. Adams, 66, of Worthville, Kentucky, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, in Owenton, Kentucky.

He was born Feb. 11, 1952, in Carroll County, Kentucky, to Webb Suter Adams and Isabelle Briley Adams. He had worked as a tree trimmer for Townsend Tree Service in Madison for several years. He had also worked in the heating and air business for several years for Vance Heating and Air in Sparta, Kentucky. He attended Dean Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthville. He always loved staying busy doing some kind of construction work and tinkering with things.

He is survived by two sons, Vernon Ray Adams of Carrollton and Boyd Powell Adams of Louisville; one daughter, Emma Lee Adams Newton of Owenton; three brothers, John Cloyd of Henryville, Indiana, Maxwell Webb Adams and Vernon Adams of Bedford, Kentucky; and three sisters, Dorothy Bell Davis of Carrollton, Connie Jackson of Sellersburg, Indiana, and Teresa Bond of Carrollton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Wayne, Luke D. Cloyd, Donnie Adams and Noble Adams; three sisters, Emma Sue Hawkins, Martha Janie Bokins and Mary Louise Adams.

Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 5 p.m. until the service. There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church in Carrollton. Cremation as been chosen by the family.

Ed Heuer

Edward Louis “Ed” Heuer, 76, of Vevay died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at his home.

He was born July 24, 1942, in Cincinnati, to Edward J. and Ruth (Cummins) Heuer. He grew up in Cincinnati and attended the Western Hills High School. He worked for US Logistics in Cincinnati for several years. He had lived in Vevay since 2005 and enjoyed tinkering on cars and trucks.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Ann Vestring Heuer of Florence, Indiana, whom he married August 15, 1986; two daughters, Geralynn Miller of Florence, and Kim Vocks of East Enterprise, Indiana; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. and Ruth Cummins Heuer and one great-granddaughter.

There will be no services at this time.

Stephen Perry

Pastor Stephen Tyrone Perry, 66, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at his home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1953, to Wayne W. and Marguerite Perry in Covington, Kentucky, and was raised in Erlanger, Kentucky, where he graduated from Lloyd Memorial High School. He continued his education at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, receiving his B.A. in Biblical Studies in 1977 and receiving his Master of Divinity in 1979 at Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. He and his wife began their ministry in 1979 by planting a church in Alexandria, Kentucky, and went on to pastor churches in Indiana including Madison Assembly of God, and in Hammond, and Greenwood, and in Granite City, Illinois. In 2007, he and his family moved to Lake Charles, where he had been senior pastor of Glad Tidings Church for the last 12 years. Throughout nearly 40 years of ministry, he and his wife along with their congregations have generously supported missions worldwide and have built more than 30 churches in 11 nations on three different continents in addition to building orphanages and Bible schools. Throughout his ministry he held elected leadership positions for several districts with the Assemblies of God. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed a variety of sports with friends and his children, enjoyed gardening and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patty” Sue Perry of Lake Charles, whom he married in 1973; three sons, Aaron P. Perry of Madison, Jason W. Perry of Pasadena, California, Stephen Curtis Perry of Lake Charles, and one daughter, Christine Lynn Adams of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother, Marguerite Perry of Erlanger, ; one sister, Sandy Perry of Midway, Kentucky; one brother, Doug Perry of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; and five grandchildren with one grandson on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne W. Perry and one brother, Philip W. Perry.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ Chapel in Florence. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, under the direction of Linnemann Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Darrell Yocum Jr.

Darrell Dewayne Yocum Jr., 39, of Vevay died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, near his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1980, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Darrell Dewayne Yocum Sr. and Linda F. Land. He was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1998 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. He was married to Rachel Ann Ravenscraft July 30, 2008, in Vevay and they had three sons, Charlie, Austin and Alex. He worked for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, for a few years and worked in maintenance for Walmart for a few months. He also worked for Arvin Sango in Madison for several years and for American Racing in Warsaw, Kentucky, for several years. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, NASCAR and was a Colts and UK fan.

He is survived by three sons, Charlie Robert Wyatt Yocum, Austin Ryan Dwayne Yocum and Alex Levi Norman Yocum, all of Patriot, Indiana; his mother, Linda F. Land of Vevay; one brother, Christopher Yocum of Vevay; his step-siblings, Heather Johnson of Florence, Angel M. Back of Pleasant, Indiana, Savannah N. Kurtz and Patrick Stroud, both of Vevay, Christian Stroud of Dillsboro, Indiana, and Matthew Stroud of Moores Hill, Indiana; his maternal grandfather, Donald Dale Land of Dillsboro; his maternal grandmother, Patty Ellen Savage of Milan, Indiana; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Dewayne Yocum Sr., who died Jan. 18, 2019; one sister, April Michelle Yocum, who died May 20, 1989; and his stepmother, Sheena Alaine Perry Yocum, who died Oct. 2, 2015.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until the service.
