James Tuttle

James G. “Jim” Tuttle, 73, of Sanders, Kentucky, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2020, at his home in Sanders.

He was born May 26, 1946, in Jonesville, Kentucky, to Gilbert and Bessie Brown Edlin Tuttle. He was a 1964 graduate of Carroll County High School, served in the U.S. Marine Corp. for four years during the Vietnam War Era and had owned a transmission business in Louisville for few years before returning to Carrollton, Kentucky, to farm the rest of his life. He enjoyed raising tobacco and black angus cattle. He had served on the Cattle Association and the Soil Conservation Board. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching football.

Survivors include two sons; Charles Adam Tuttle and Jimmy Tuttle, both of Sanders; a brother, Billy Tuttle of Sanders; three sisters, Mary Corley of Carrollton and Doris Tuttle and Joyce Hewitt, both of Sanders; and three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, Sabrina Brown Stethen; and two brothers, Charles and Glen Tuttle.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Cremation was chosen by the family.
