Roger Lee Beed, 71, of Carpenter, Wyoming, and formerly of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at Cheyenne VA Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Arrangements are pending at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service in Madison.

Lois Butters

Lois June Harmon Butters, 78, of Vevay, Indiana, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

She was born June 18, 1941, in Switzerland County, Indiana, to Forest D. and Mayme Riley Harmon. She grew up and went to school in Switzerland County. She married Leslie Butters in 1958 and was blessed with three sons and two daughters. She did farm work and babysitting to support her family. She moved to the Madison area in 1992, went to stay with her daughter in Oklahoma for a time, and moved to the Osgood area in 2013, later moving to Vevay. She enjoyed reading, sewing, flowers, listening to music, and caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Richard Lee Butters of Shreveport, Louisiana, Terry Butters of Elkhart, Indiana, and Thomas Butters of Plant City, Florida; one daughter, Denise Sweet of Catoosa, Oklahoma; a brother, William Harmon of Madison, Indiana; four sisters, Donna Randolph of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Wanda Moppin of Madison, Indiana, Bonna Wilson of Carrollton, Kentucky, and Rose Harmon of Versailles, Indiana; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Suzanne Butters Wade, and four brothers, Gary Dean Harmon Sr., James Harmon, Robert “Bob” Harmon, and Danny Joe Harmon.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at 2 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow at a later date in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Barry Flint

Barry Lee Flint, 60, of Madison, Indiana, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

He was born Sept.1, 1959, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to Bobby Lee and Shirley Ann Ginn Flint. He resided most of his life in Madison and was a 1978 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School where he was a star varsity baseball player. He retired as a pipe fitter with Union Local 502 in Louisville due to his fight with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, later undergoing a double lung transplant. He enjoyed his grandchildren’s involvement in Pope John and Shawe Schools and attending their events. He also enjoyed boating, watching sports and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 38 years, Nancy Elizabeth Hoffman Flint of Madison; a son, Benjamin Flint of Madison; a daughter, Laura Flint Vladimirovs of Los Angeles; his father of Ocala, Florida; his mother, Shirley Ann Ginn Anderson of Hanover, Indiana; a brother, Rich Flint of Ocala; a sister, Beth Rashleigh of Evergreen, Colorado; and eight grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father in law, paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents.

He chose cremation. A private family celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date to be announced.

Romaine Hood

Romaine Seitz Hood, 86, of Scottsburg, Indiana, and formerly of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Arrangements are pending at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison.

Linda Hunter

Linda Sue Willett Hunter, 72, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, in Carrollton.

She was born March 11, 1947, in Turners Station, Kentucky, to Raymond Merrill “Peno” Willett and Elizabeth Casey Willett. She had retired from the United States Postal Service in Carrollton as a rural mail carrier. She was a member of the English Baptist Church and enjoyed raising flowers and taking care of her lawn at home.

Survivors include a son, Gregory Wayne Hunter of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; two daughters, Michelle Reneé Jones and Leigh Ann Hunter, both of Carrollton; a sister, Donna Johnson of Carrollton; and six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Forrest Leon Willett and Earl Wayne Willett.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in the English Cemetery near Carrollton. Visitation is 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

T.W. Mefford

T. W. Mefford, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at Signature Healthcare in Carrollton, Kentucky.

He was born July 7, 1928, in Ghent, Kentucky, to Wiley Armstrong Mefford and Dorothy Turner Mefford. He was a retired farmer, hauled milk for many years for Kraft Foods and worked several years at the Southern States Cooperative in Carrollton.

He is survived by one daughter, Terry Wallace of Carrollton, and one son, Ricky G. Mefford of Ghent; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jo Ann Persall Mefford, and one sister; Anna Katherine Wheeler.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
