Carrie Barker

Carolyn “Carrie” Stewart Barker, 50, died on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.

She was born on May 4, 1970, in Heidelberg, Germany, to Ron Stewart of Milton, Kentucky, and Julie Buckner Lewis of Sanders, Kentucky. She had served in the U.S. Navy, was currently working for Parts Unlimited in La Grange, Kentucky, as a customer service representative and was a member of the English Christian Church.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Ron and Rita Stewart of Milton; her mother and stepfather, Julie and Mike Lewis of Sanders; two sons, Joshua Michael Barker of Sarasota, Florida and Sean Greggory Barker with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Virginia; a brother, Bradley Allen Stewart of Charleston, South Carolina; two stepsisters, Brittany Laine Irving of Farmville, Virginia and Tammie Lynn Lewis of Lexington, Kentucky; and a granddaughter, Laila Rose Barker.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, at the English Christian Church near Carrollton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, church occupancy will be limited to 50% normal capacity, so be prepared for a possible wait line. Strict adherence to 6-foot social distancing guidelines will be followed and attendees must wear a face mask while attending unless a medical condition prevents mask usage.

Jo Jenkins

Jolynn “Jo” Dee Oliver Jenkins, age 44, of North Vernon, Indiana, died on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Seymour Crossing in Seymour, Indiana.

She was born on June 7, 1976 in Richland, Pennsylvania, to James and Barbara Lape Oliver. She graduated in 1994 from Elco High School in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and resided most of her life in Richland before moving to North Vernon in 2009. She had worked at Hershey’s, New Holland and Quill while living in Pennsylvania. After moving to Indiana she worked for Smoker’s Friendly for the past 12 years, managing stores in Hanover and Columbus. She liked to play pool, collect wolves, go to festivals, flea markets, and Chevrolet trucks.

Survivors include her daughters, Lonnie Lengel Lloyd of Hanover, Indiana and Colleen Oliver of Vernon, Indiana; her grandson, Christopher Robert Eugene Lloyd, of Hanover; her close friend, Beth Austin of Hanover; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sherri Yordy.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Monroe Cemetery on Madison’s hilltop. Friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
