James Proctor

James Fredrick “Spider” Proctor, 74, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at his home.

He was born Feb. 16, 1945, in Gallatin County, Kentucky, to Victor Hayes Proctor and Essie Sarah Belle Marie Beach Proctor. He had worked for the Gallatin County School System as a bus driver and mechanic and Sullivan Trucking Company as a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Ruth Stangle Proctor of Carrollton; four daughters, Nancy Ellen Foster and Karen Evans, both of Carrollton, Kimberly Moore of Worthville, Kentucky, and Leigh Ann Prather of Monte Eagle, Tennessee; two sons, James Edward “Eddie” Proctor of Carrollton, and Jason Matthew Proctor of Glencoe, Kentucky, two sisters, Brenda Susan Dodson of Carrollton, and Linda Lou Proctor of Manchester, Tennessee; five brothers, Leslie Earle “L.E.” Proctor of Batavia, Ohio, Victor Hayes Proctor Jr. of Vevay, Indiana, Vernon Proctor of Warsaw, Kentucky, Lewis Hayes Proctor of Carrolton, and Ronald Proctor of Vevay; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jefferey Scott Proctor, two brothers, Richard Lee and Robert “Bobby” Proctor, and a grandson, Eric Proctor.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 13, 2019, at noon at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 13, 2019, at the church. Burial will take place in the English Cemetery in Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton to assist the family with expenses.
