Michael Whaley

Michael Wayne Whaley, 54, of Madison, Indiana, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at his home in Madison.

He was born Feb. 20, 1966, in Cincinnati, to Danny R. Whaley Sr. and Wanda Ann Bruce Whaley. He grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from North East High in 1984 where he played baseball. He worked as a quality engineer at Fein Tool in Cincinnati for 20 years and Arvin Sango for a year. He was a member of Green Road Baptist Church in Madison and enjoyed volunteering at church and at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital. He loved riding motorcycles, the Cincinnati Bengals and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of five years, Sarah Leslie May Whaley of Madison; his son, Mark Anthony Whaley of Cincinnati; his mother, of Cincinnati; his stepsons, Nicholas Howley, Logan Chandler and Joshua Chandler of Madison; his sister, Pam Morgan of Cincinnati; a brother, Danny Royce Whaley Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska; and four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2018; a brother, Mark Whaley, in 1984; his daughter, Stephanie Ann Martin, in 2016, and his grandmother, Rosie Bruce, in 2008.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at the Green Road Baptist Church in Madison. Interment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Madison. Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison and from 3 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Jerry Wickey

Jerry R. Wickey, 61, of Canaan, Indiana, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

He was born June 18, 1958, in Berne, Indiana, to Jacob J. and Rosina R. “Rosie” Schwartz Wickey. He was raised in Berne and had lived in the Pleasant, Bennington and Canaan communities in Indiana since 1988. He received his education and was of the Old Order Amish faith and cared for by his family until his death.

He is survived by his mother, of Bennington; his brothers, Reuben Wickey, Amos Wickey and Simon Wickey, all of Bennington, Andy Wickey and Rudy Wickey, both of Canaan, Jacob Wickey of Owingsville, Kentucky, Harvey Wickey and Eli Wickey, both of Cross Plains, Indiana; his sister, Mattie Wickey of Bennington; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; his sisters, Emma Wickey, Mary J. Wickey, Ruth Schwartz and Elizabeth J. “Lizzie” Wickey; and two nephews, a niece and numerous aunts and uncles.
