Thelma Dixon

Thelma Louise Barnes Dixon, 58, of New Castle, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, at her home.

She was born June 2, 1960, to Robert Matthew Barnes and Patricia Ann Stout Barnes. She worked as a private caregiver and babysitter. She dearly loved her dogs and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Dixon of New Castle; two daughters, Tina Dixon Carlton of New Castle and BobbieDixon Combs of Campbellsville, Kentucky; two sisters, Connie Barnes Evens of Carrollton, Kentucky, and Barbara Barnes Bishop of New Castle; one brother, Donald Lynn Barnes Stout of Punta Gorda, Florida; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert “Spike” Barnes.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in the Point Pleasant Cemetery, Bethlehem, Kentucky.

Elmer Lewellyn

Elmer Lewellyn, 54, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

He was born on Dec. 4, 1964. to Donald and June Davis Lewellyn.

He is survived by his nephew, Kevin Lewellyn Jr. of Carrollton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kevin R. Lewellyn Sr.

A memorial service will be Friday, June 7, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Carl Young

Carl William Young, 67, of Madison, Indiana, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at his home.

He was born Jan. 22, 1952, in Madison, to Carl Pleasant and June Evelyn Birchfield Young. He lived all of his life in Madison and enjoyed walking. He was of the Christian faith and had worked as a farm laborer and in lawn care most of his life.

He is survived by his four sisters, Patricia Smith of Hanover, Indiana, Marcella Stethen of Carrollton, Kentucky, and Evelyn Chadwell and Marilyn Robbins of Sanders, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Service is private. Interment will occur in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.
