Thomas Allan Locke, 60 of Hanover died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

Carol Meadows

Carol Denise Bilz Meadows, 64, of Madison died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at her companion’s home at Sandy Beach near Brooksburg, Indiana, after a long hard battle with COPD.

She was born Oct. 29, 1954 in Madison, to Francis M. Jr. and Rachel Louise Robbins Bilz. She lived most of her life in Madison and attended Madison Consolidated High School. She was married to Johnny Scholl in 1972 and they had one son, John Robert III and one daughter, Chandra Lynn. She worked early in life for the U.S. Shoe Corp. and the Madison State Hospital. In 1990, she was married to Joey Meadows and they had one son, Cory Lee. She had last worked for Tower Manufacturing until she became disabled. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill American Legion Post No. 9 Auxiliary. She loved to play Bingo, Bunco, socializing at the Legion and hanging out with all her friends at Sandy Beach.

She is survived by her companion, Glen Watson of Brooksburg; one daughter, Chandra Lynn Raisor of Madison; one son, Cory Lee Meadows of Madison; one stepson, Joey Meadows of Carrollton, Kentucky; one sister, Bev Reece of Madison; two brothers, Bill Bilz of Madison and Wayne McGuire of Hanover; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her her parents; one brother, Robert Edward “Eddie” Bilz, who died Jan. 13, 1999; and one grandson, Derrick Robert Turner, who died Feb. 13, 2009;

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will follow at a later date in Springdale Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Carol Meadows Remembrance Fund. Cards are available at the funeral homes.
