Beth Mead

Beth A. Mead, 94, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at her residence.

She was born August 28, 1924, in St. John, Michigan, to Earl W. and Beatrice KeenerWagoner. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Mead, of Carrollton; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don Mead, and a daughter, Kathy Rathburn.

All services were private.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton.

Lois Wallace

Lois McClure Wallace, 82, of Madison, Indiana, died Friday, May 3, 2019, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

She was born March 8, 1937, in Turners Station, Kentucky, to Nathan and Mattie Mae Chilton McClure. She was raised in Turners Station and graduated from Henry County High School in 1955. She was employed by Conair in Carrollton in production for 17 years and also worked at the Thrifty Dollar Store in Madison as a clerk. In 1974 she and her husband opened Wallace Antiques in Madison and operated the store until 2007. She was a member of the Turners Station Baptist Church and had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Madison. She loved her dog, Molly, and was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and sister.

She is survived by her husband, John Robert Wallace, of Madison; two daughters, Jan Wallace Helton and Barbara Wallace Hatton, both of Madison; a son, Phillip Gene Wallace of Madison; three grandsons; one great-grandson, Robert Finn Helton; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Doris Miller — her twin sister, Aileen Hamilton, Cathleen Hopkins, and Velma Powers, and four brothers, Nathan, Eugene, Ralph and Kenneth McClure.

Arrangements by private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Cards are available at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
