Mareta Rose

Mareta Aldean Pickett Rose, 99, of Vevay, Indiana, died Friday, May 3, 2019, at her residence.

She was born August 10, 1919, in Switzerland County, Indiana, to Clovis and Tempest Sanders Pickett. She grew up in Switzerland County where she was a 1937 graduate of Patriot High School. She was wonderful homemaker and cook and helped her husband on the family farm. She resided all of her life in Switzerland County and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Gene Rose and Terry Wayne Rose, both of Vevay; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sammy Gurley Rose; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Marie Rose, and one sister, Falba Ray.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church.

Pamela Stephenson

Pamela “Pam” Kay Risinger Stephenson, 59, of Kent, Indiana, died unexpectedly Friday, May 3, 2019, at her home.

She was born August 28, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, to Noah Denny and Ina Faye Combs Risinger. She lived in Ripley County, attended school in Milan and graduated in 1977 from South Ripley High School. She received a bachelors degree in education from Tennessee Temple in 1982. She completed student teaching in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and taught in the classroom at Faith Temple Christian School in Louisville from 1982 to 1988. She moved to Madison and taught at Grace Baptist from 1988 to 2009, then at Hope Baptist Academy from 2008 to 2016, and, since 2017, had taught at Scottsburg Christian Pre-School and Day-Care. She was a faithful member of the Grace Baptist Church and served wherever needed on any committee and as church clerk and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed couponing and shopping and was devoted to her family and her church work. She was an awesome cook and hostess and loved to travel.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Edward “Ron” Stephenson, of Kent; one daughter, Brianna Marie Stephenson of Kent; four sisters, Penny Risinger Jones of Madison, Indiana, Michelle Risinger Motz of Milan, Indiana, Sherri Risinger Brown of Troy, Ohio, Cari Risinger Waymire of Carlisle, Kentucky; a niece and several nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Brian Keith Risinger.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church in Madison. Committal services will be Thursday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Madison.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church.
