Donald Wayne Tomlinson, 73, of Bedford, Kentucky, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Hosparus of Louisville.

He was born June 19, 1945, in Louisville. He was raised in a family of six children by his grandparents, ES and Mabel Wise Craig. He served his country in the Army from 1965 to 1967. After his years in the Army, he worked as a Union Boilermaker. He was a member of Bedford Baptist Church. He loved to fish and knew where all the fish were hiding. He caught fish with his buddies until his illness prevented him from going. His other love was his car. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #158. He and his wife, Ida, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Paulette Ball Tomlinson of Bedford; one son, Darrin Elliott Tomlinson of Bedford; his mother, Delphine Craig Jett of Lexington, Indiana; one brother, Roy Douglas Tomlinson of Bedford; and three sisters, Brenda Sue Lynch of Greenwood, Indiana, Judy Davenport of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Pat Elaine Cooper of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin D. Tomlinson, and one sister, Nancy Carol Morgan.

There will be a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bedford Baptist Church with military honors to follow.

Visitation will be at church Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service.

There will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
