Norma Blackford

Norma Jean Cowden Blackford, 89, of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at at her residence.

She was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Jasonville, Indiana, to Harold and Emma R. Puschell Cowden. She grew up in Jasonville and was a 1948 graduate of Jasonville High School. She attended Terre Haute Beauty School. She married Ralph Richards in 1948 and was blessed with a daughter, Becky, and a son, Mark. She married Wallace Parker in 1962 and was blessed with a daughter, Candace. She married Raymond R. Blackford in 1974 and was blessed with a stepdaughter, Sherri, and a stepson, Larry. She moved to Madison in 2003. She worked for Blackford Construction as bookkeeper and for the Blackford Camp Ground for 30 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville and attended North United Methodist Church in Madison. She was a member of Hanover Order of Eastern Star No. 525 and was a volunteer at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, working with stained glass and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Becky Staton of Charleston, Illinois, and Candace Sigmon of Vevay, Indiana; one son, Mark Richards of Franklin, Indiana; one stepdaughter, Sherri Blackford of Rushville, Indiana; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and several cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond R. Blackford, who died in 2001, and her stepson, Larry Blackford.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at 6 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. A graveside ceremony will follow Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Oak Hill North Cemetery in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lucy Crawford

Lucy Sue Crawford of Carrollton, Kentucky, entered this life prematurely at just 18 weeks Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

She was the daughter of Steven and Brittney Robbins Crawford of Carrollton, Kentucky, and is also survived by her two older brothers, Traven Brightwell and Steven James Crawford III., both of Carrollton; her maternal grandparents, Lee and Cheston Robbins of Carrollton; her paternal grandparents, Reginia Satchwell of Carrollton and Steven Crawford Sr. of New Castle, Kentucky, and her maternal great-great grandmother, Karen Robbins of Carrollton.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great–great grandparents, Harold Robbins, Verna Ellis Moore, and Elwood Moore.

Private graveside services for the family will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
