Anne Fogarty

Anne Margaret Barry Fogarty, 79, of Noblesville, Indiana and formerly of Vevay, Indiana, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. 

She was born June 18, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, to Margaret Mary and James Edward Barry. She was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from St. Joseph's High School there. She entered The Sisters of Mercy where she completed college and taught kindergarten and third grade for several years. She married John Francis “Jack” Fogarty in Brooklyn on Nov. 5, 1966, and they had three daughters and a son. The family lived in New Jersey and she worked as a nurse at Middlesex Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey before moving to Vevay in 1989. She then worked at Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation in Vevay, was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison, Indiana, and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine with the children. Most recently she lived in Scottsdale, Arizona and Austin, Texas, but came to Indiana to visit her daughter in June where she fell ill. 

Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Daly of Sparta, New Jersey, Maureen Banning of Noblesville, Indiana and Kathleen Paz of Austin, Texas; her son, John F. Fogarty Jr. of Neshanic Station, New Jersey; her sister, Peggy Catanzaro of Vevay; and eight grandchildren and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 36 years on Nov. 16, 2002.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, at the St. Patrick Catholic Chapel on Madison’s hilltop. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery there. The Rosary will be prayed at 1:15 p.m. on Monday at the chapel.
