Mary Jackson 

Mary Ruth Garriott Jackson, 82, of Madison, Indiana and formerly of Hanover, Indiana and Carrollton, Kentucky, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. 

She was born Nov. 25, 1937, in Carrollton, to Wayne and Clara Margaret Sullivan Garriott.  She grew up in Trimble County, Kentucky, and moved to Jefferson County, Indiana in 1969. She married William Francis Jackson in 1954 and they had two sons and three daughters. She worked at the Carl and Rachel Abbott Orchard for three years, Hanover Nursing Home as a kitchen worker for five years, and Grote Industries as an assembler for seven years. She was a member of Milton Baptist Church of Milton, Kentucky and the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion Auxilliary in Madison. She enjoyed playing Bingo.

Survivors include her daughters, Diana Cyrus, Teresa Dean and Luvania "Chunky" Jackson, all of Madison; a son, Dwayne Jackson of Hanover, Indiana; her sisters, Joyce Craig of Hanover and Barbara Molden of Louisville; her brothers, Richard Garriott and Gary Garriott, both of Carrollton and Paul Garriott of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 28, 1968; a son, Kenneth Nelson "Bub" Jackson, in 2014; and her brothers, Freddie Garriott and William "Billy" Garriott. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a,m, on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
