Neil Wright

Christopher Neil Wright, 59, of Madison, Indiana, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, in the Emergency Room at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, from injuries sustained from being struck by a truck in downtown Madison.

He was born May 17, 1961, in Madison, to William Joseph Wright and Nina J. Cummins Wright. He was raised in Madison and graduated from Madison Consolidated High School in 1981. He was raised a Methodist and had attended Trinity United Methodist Church. He also attended Ivy Tech where he became a certified welder and had worked as a welder for Armor Metal in Madison, Dayton Walther in Carrollton, Kentucky, and then worked for a time for Hall’s Laundry. He moved to Bakersfield, California, and worked as a welder there for three years and then resided in Joliet, Illinois, working as a welder at Barrett Hardware and Industrial Support. He married Kathi Carlisle in July 1983 and they had a daughter. He enjoyed reading, old movies and loved music and his dogs, Queenie and Missy.

Survivors include his mother of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; his daughter, Brittany Marie Wright Martin of Hanover, Indiana; his sisters, Dedra Wright Horath of Joliet, Illinois and Jill Wright Jester of Madison; and two grandchildren, a niece and nephew, six great nephews and great nieces and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandmother, Ethel M. Willey Cummins, an aunt and other family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8 and from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
