Gilbert Heaton

D. Gilbert Heaton, 78, of Milton, Kentucky, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at his home.

He was born May 10, 1940, in Berea, Kentucky, in Madison County, the son of Byron Jack and Myrtle Lunsford Heaton. He lived nearly all his life in Trimble County on his farm. He raised tobacco and ran a dairy for 60 years until he retired three weeks ago. He was a deacon and member of Hopewell Community Church at Locust. He also was a long-time member of the Trimble County Clunkers Tractor Club.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Carol Heaton of Milton; two daughters, Martha Carol Hunt of Milton and Jacqueline Schmaine “Jackie” Jeffries of Bedford, Kentucky; one sister, Joann Logan of Bedford; one brother, Roger Heaton of Bedford; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will follow in New Castle Cemetery in New Castle, Kentucky.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service.

William McDole

William “Bill” E. McDole, 77, of Milton, Kentucky died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018.

He was born in Bedford, Kentucky on June 15, 1941 to George William McDole and Addie Lee Connors McDole. He was one of three siblings. From an early age he loved being outdoors. He served his country in the Army and was honorably discharged. He worked as a carpenter for the Jefferson County Proving Ground. Retiring from there gave him more time to do the things he loved. He used his free time hunting and fishing. He especially loved squirrel hunting. He enjoyed his guns and taught his family how to shoot. When he wasn’t hunting or fishing he was on his motorcycle or his boat.

He is survived by his wife Willana McCord McDole of Milton; his children Roger D. McCord of Madison, Vickie Shuck of Bedford, Kentucky and George Lee McDole of Milton; his siblings JoAnna Jones of Bedford, and Terry Wayne McDole of Milton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by this parents and a daughter, Vonda Ann Hunter.

Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial will follow at the Moffett Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Army and the American Legion Post 9.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 and from 9 a.m. until the service.

Family requests any memorial be made to the Veterans Administration. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
