Garry W. Forwood, 72, of Rising Sun, Indiana and formerly of Vevay, Indiana, died Friday, Nov.15, 2019, at his home. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Daniel Starker

Daniel “Danny” Starker, 72, of Rising Sun, Indiana, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at his daughter’s residence in Patriot, Indiana.

He was born June 24, 1947, in Milan, Indiana, to Gerald R. Starker and Leona Mefford Starker Bruestle. He was raised in Aurora, Indiana, and Lawrenceburg, Indiana, where he attended school. He was inducted into the US Army and was honorably discharged. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He often never knew what he would be doing from week to week but was always working on something and he always did what he wanted to do, even if you didn’t always agree with him! He enjoyed race cars, dirt track racing and attending the Lawrenceburg Speedway. He was a member of the Dillsboro American Legion Post No. 29 and a former member of the Vevay American Legion Post No. 185, Vevay VFW Post No. 5396 and Aurora American Legion Post No. 241. He was also a former member of the Aurora Moose Lodge Chapter No. 1908, a member of the Ludlow Hill Baptist Church and he attended the Bible Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

Survivors include his daughters, Danielle Hutchinson and Lynana Scudder, both of Patriot; his sisters, Lavonne Wilson of Independence, Kentucky and Sharon Adams of Aurora; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joan Franks; and two brothers, David and Donald Starker.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with interment and full military honors conducted by the Vevay American Legion Post No. 185 and the Vevay VFW Post No. 5396 honor guards at the Eastview Cemetery in Patriot. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday, Nov. 21 at the funeral home.
