Mary Barlage

Mary Grace Barlage, 67, of Vevay, Indiana, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.

She was born Feb. 4, 1952, in Cincinnati. She was the daughter of Charles Waters and Bernice Barlage Brown. She grew up in Cincinnati and attended Hughes High School. She was united in marriage to Hurdis Rose and spent several years of companionship with Robert “Bob” Springer. She was as a technician for a nursing home in Blue Ash, Ohio, and for the Harrison House in Cincinnati. She was a former member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Springer of Vevay; three brothers, David Barlage, Robert Roberts and Daniel Roberts, all of Cincinnati, two grandsons and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents who raised her, Elmer and Grace Bice, and a sister, Sharon K. McCulley.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at the funeral home.

Ann Henderson

Ann Mae Henderson, 57, of Vevay, Indiana, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. Arrangements are pending at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.



Hubert Layton

Hubert Earl “Hooty” Layton, 75, of Milton, Kentucky, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 14, 1943, in Owenton, Kentucky, to Carl David Layton and Anna Katherine McMannis Layton. He was retired from Kentucky Utilities Ghent Generating Station as a maintenance coordinator. He had worked previously for Rexnord Manufacturing in Madison for several years. He was a member of English Christian Church. He enjoyed working on old cars, hunting and fishing, trail riding on horseback, building structures and doing his own fabrication work.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ann Hartman Layton; one son, David Wayne Layton of Milton; two daughters; Lynn Ann Layton of Milton and Tammy Gale Hearn of Ghent, Kentucky; one brother, Larry Wayne Layton of Milton; one sister, Joyce Ann Clifton of Owenton, Kentucky, four grandchildren; two great -grandchildren and two honorary grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Don Layton and Buck Layton.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept.14, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the English Christian Church in Carrollton, Kentucky. Graveside services will be at 6 p.m. at the English Cemetery in Carrollton.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to English Christian Church in care of the funeral home
