Martha Carlock

Martha Robertson Dryden Carlock, 95, of Madison, Indiana, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at her home.

She was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Louisville to Melville and Anna Mae Jacobs Robertson. She moved to Indiana at age eight and was a 1941 graduate of North Vernon High School. She attended Bryant and Stratton Business College. She loved traveling and spending winters in Southern California. She was an office worker and typist for the Welfare Dept. She was a faithful member of North Madison Christian Church and of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed taking pictures, reading, and loved spending time with her family.

She will be missed by her daughter, Beth Marshall of Madison; two stepsons, Bruce Carlock of Eaglewood, Florida, David Carlock of Denver, Colorado; one stepdaughter, Marjorie Auxier of Madison; one sister, Elizabeth “Ann” Kingston of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Annamary Dryden Claghorn; one son, Walter E. Dryden; one step-daughter, Sharon Bennebose; her first husband, Elmer R. Dryden, and her second husband, Douglas Nelson Carlock.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will follow in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Reuben Davis Sr.

Reuben Carroll Davis Sr., 71, of Madison, Indiana, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at the home of his daughter in Milton, Kentucky.

He was born April 21, 1948, in Madison, Indiana, to Fred “Rack” Sr. and Carla “Carlie” Mae Stoner Davis. He lived all of his life and attended school in Madison. He worked for 30 years for Fox-Snell Septic Service and had worked in maintenance for McDonald’s. He found great enjoyment sitting on his porch, rolling his cigarettes, watching TV and being with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Milton Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jacklyn V. Snell Davis of Madison; three sons, Reuben Davis Jr. of North Vernon, Indiana, Tom Davis of Madison and Kevin R. Davis of La Grange, Kentucky; four daughters, Violet Giar and Amanda Kent of Madison, Miranda Wright of Bedford, Kentucky, and Michelle Melton of Milton; one brother, Duke Davis of Petersburg, Indiana; one sister, Alma Hedgepeth of Madison; and 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Milton Christian Church.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.

Ruth Ann Harmon

Ruth Ann Farrell Harmon, 78, of Florence, Indiana, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at her home.

She was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Jefferson County, Indiana, to Ernest A. and Ruth Jane Harris Farrell. She grew up in Jefferson County and attended Madison High School. She had lived in Switzerland County, Indiana, since 1957. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed playing Bingo, raising her family and watching the Cincinnati Reds.

She is survived by her husband, Gayle Dean Harmon, of Florence; one son, Timothy Gayle “Tim” Harmon Sr. of Florence; three daughters, Lisa K. Claypoole, Pam Mays and Debbie Cunningham, all of Florence; two sisters, Mildred Callahan of Vevay, Indiana, and Norma Batts of Madison; two brothers, Doug Farrell and Danny Farrell, both of Vevay; 12 grandchildren; 23-great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Marion Wilson, and three sisters, Alleyne Powell, Marcella Barnett and Linda Skirvin.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at the funeral home.

Michael Ritter

Michael Jerome “Mike” Ritter, 71, of Madison, Indiana, formerly of Bowling Green, Kentucky, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at the Hickory Creek of Madison in Madison, Indiana.

He was born Feb. 17, 1948, in Washington, Missouri, to Bernard and Thelma McKinney Ritter. He grew up in Union, Missouri and graduated from Union High School. He had been employed by General Motors and worked at the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green for 30 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. He had lived in Madison the past year. He enjoyed fishing, camping, barbecuing, woodworking, collecting guns and collecting and dealing in antique bottles.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Lynn Lewis Ritter of Madison; three daughters, JoEllen Ritter Tyczka of Baldwin, Missouri; Amy Ritter Neidenbach of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Julie Ritter Trentmann of Marthasville, Missouri; one son, Clint “C.J.” Coleman of Madison; two sisters, Suzanne Ritter of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Mary Christman of Dogue,Virginia; two brothers, Roger Ritter of Union, Missouri and Nicholas Ritter of Wildwood, Missouri; and six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His wishes were to be cremated with no services to be held.
