    Soup Luncheon: The Ladies of St. John’s Church will have a luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on May 24 in Wetzel Hall on East Street. The menu is chili, bean and potato soup, hot dogs, ham and cheese salad sandwiches, a variety of homemade desserts, coffee, tea and lemonade. Carry outs will be available.

    U.S. AIR FORCE Airman First Class Sydney Bright graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. Bright completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

    Intro to S.T.E.M.: The Jefferson County 4-H club is hosting a workshop from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Purdue Extension Office in Jefferson County. Participants can learn how to code, build circuits and design their own video games. Registration costs $20 and for active 4-H members, it is $5. The program is for grades 6-12. Two Madison Campus students, Ligia Thornton and Hilary Wiseman, were included in those from across the state named to the team, according to a release.
