Sunshine Homemakers

The Sunshine Homemakers met Nov. 20 at Hanover Baptist Church. President Dorothy Morgan opened the meeting with the Extension Homemakers Club Creed and the Pledge of Allegiance. The club sang "Over The River And Through The Woods." Morgan read "Harvest of the Years" by George B. Adams and Romans 15:56 for devotions. Members answered the roll call with what they are grateful for. Barbara Wykoff shared a photo of the Quilt Show, which appeared in The Madison Courier for the first show. The next show will be April 12-14 at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. The club also discussed a $25 donations to the youth shelter and gown and a book for the first baby of 2014 born at King's Daughters' Hospital. The quote of the month was from Washington Irving, "A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles." The thought for the month was, "Thank God for dirty dishes. They have a tale to tell. While others may go hungry, we've eaten very well. With home, health and happiness. I shouldn't want to fuss. By the stack of evidence. God's been very good to us." The club's next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 11 at Morgan's residence.
