Jazlean, left, is an energetic Border Collie mix. She will wiggle with excitement when it's time for a walk or to play. She loves to have her head and ears petted. She is a black and white, 1 to 3-year-old, who weighs 35 pounds. She is $50 off her adoption and spay fees.

Oliver, right, would love to have a home with a playmate. He is a sweet, 10 to 12-week-old with gray and white medium-length fur.

The Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter currently has more than 24 dogs and puppies, and 35 cats and kittens available. Pictures of additional pets waiting for adoption can be seen at www.sisaveapet.com.

Thanks to a sponsor, all cats six-months-old or older are $45 off of their adoption, rabies vaccination and spay/neuter fees. Eligible cats who are already spayed or neutered are $25 off of their adoption fees. Adopt one kitten under six-months-old and the fees for a second kitten are half off.

Normal shelter hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday from noon to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m., Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. It is closed Sunday and Tuesday. The shelter number is (812) 273-1788 and their email is jcas39@seidata.com.

Volunteers are always welcome at the shelter to help with walking dogs, playing with puppies and kittens and many other tasks. Volunteers must be 16 years old.

A list of requested items can be found on the shelter website. Donations can be mailed to 2727 Hannah Drive, Madison, IN 47250 or dropped off during shelter hours.

Those with missing pets can stop by the shelter, call or email a complete description of the pet, when and where it was last seen, the owner's name and contact information, and a picture of the pet. Pets are held for three days for owners to reclaim them, before they are made available for adoption.
