Huckle, short for Huckleberry, top, really likes people! He is friendly and outgoing and likes to play and be petted. He is a strong and at 48 pounds, will need consistent training. He is a 3 to 5-year-old, mixed breed. He is neutered, so his adoption fee is $45, plus the cost of a rabies vaccination.

Tivon, bottom, is a quiet and affectionate boy who would like to share the couch. He is really laid back and won't take up much room. He is 1 to 3 years old and is $45 off his adoption, rabies and neuter fees.

Thanks to a sponsor, all cats one-year-old or older are $45 off of their adoption, rabies vaccination and spay/neuter fees. Eligible cats who are already spayed or neutered are $25 off of their adoption fees.

The shelter collects aluminum cans for the dog and cat medical fund. Donors can drop off rinsed and dried aluminum cans at the shelter.

Volunteers are always welcome at the shelter to help with walking dogs, playing with puppies and kittens and many other tasks. Volunteers must be 16 years old.

The shelter is in need of paper towels. A list of requested items can be found on the shelter website. Donations can be mailed to 2727 Hannah Drive, Madison, IN 47250 or dropped off during shelter hours.

Animals should not be abandoned outside of the shelter or dropped off at the shelter after hours.
