Ballard, top, is a sweet and affectionate puppy that does well with children. He likes to please people and is quickly learning basic commands. He especially likes going for walks. He is a 9 to 11-month-old, 38 lb., Spaniel mix that will stay medium-sized. He $50 off his adoption and neuter fees.

Vincent, bottom, is a snuggler and likes to play. He is a 1 to 3-year-old, brown Tabby, who likes a lot of attention and doesn't mind being picked up. He is $45 off his adoption, rabies and neuter fees.

Thanks to a sponsor, all cats one-year-old or older are $45 off of their adoption, rabies vaccination and spay/neuter fees. Eligible cats who are already spayed or neutered are $25 off of their adoption fees.

Volunteers are always welcome at the shelter to help with walking dogs, playing with puppies and kittens and many other tasks. Volunteers must be 16 years old.

The shelter is in need of paper towels. A list of requested items can be found on the shelter website. Donations can be mailed to 2727 Hannah Drive, Madison, IN 47250 or dropped off during shelter hours.

Animals should not be abandoned outside of the shelter or dropped off at the shelter after hours.
