Prince of Peace named finalist for lounge makeover
Courier Staff Report
Thursday, February 7, 2019 3:12 PM
The Prince of Peace Catholic School system in Madison has been named a finalist in a nationwide search to award a deserving school with a complete teacher lounge makeover, valued at more than $20,000.
TCC, a Verizon Authorized Wireless Retailer, has selected three school finalists, based on employee nominations, and the winner will be selected by community votes.
“The current lounge area is not sufficient for the needs of the teachers and staff,” said Sara Williams, district sales manager for TCC in Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi, and parent of a Prince of Peace student. “Many of the teachers and staff coach and assist in after-school programs so they are spending additional time at the school outside of the classroom. They deserve a place they can relax, eat and take a break in between their classes and activities.”
TCC employees nominated deserving schools across the nation to receive the breakroom refresh. The company’s internal selection committee narrowed the submissions down to the three schools. The two additional finalists are Central Elementary in Forrest City, Arkansas, and Susan Moore Elementary School in Blountsville, Alabama. The makeovers will take place in the next few months and the runners-up will each receive a $1,000 Home Depot gift card to assist with necessary renovations.
Community members can cast their votes from Feb. 4-10 at: http://tcc.io/schoolmakeover2019
