All Good Things Soaps and Such is now Fountain Alley Body Care, 318 W. Main St.

The business, owned by Larry and Sonia Folkner, first began in 2004 on the family farm in Canaan. In 2009, the Folkner’s purchased the Main Street building for a brick and mortar store.

Products sold at the shop include soaps, lotions and other skin care items - all of which are biodegradable, aside from some packaging.

After expanding their business and receiving international inquiries, Sonia Folkner said, it was decided to change the name of the business. Similarly named All Good Things businesses in California and England would have made things difficult to trademark, she said.

After considering other names, she said, one of her sons suggested Fountain Alley – the street just outside the door of the kitchen where the shop’s soaps and other products are made. When it came to a new logo, the Folkner’s used fish on the Broadway Fountain as inspiration.

Folkner said she’s still waiting on a new sign to officially mark the name change, but after it arrives a new grand opening event will be held.
