BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Former Madison gymnastics Kelli Tereshko recently closed out her senior season at the University of Bridgeport as a conference champion and NCAA Division II All-American in the uneven bars.

Tereshko, a 2014 Madison graduate who originally signed with Ball State, battled through a number of injuries earlier in her collegiate career but transferred to Bridgeport, an Eastern College Athletic Conference program, as a junior in 2017 and got healthy for her senior season with the Purple Knights.

Tereshko won the ECAC conference championship in the uneven bars, qualified for the NCAA Division I Regional Championships at Penn State where she was named an Academic All-American and then competed in the USAG Collegiate Championships last weekend in Denton, Texas, where finished fourth in nation in the uneven bars with a 9.800 score to earn her first team All-American honors.

Tereshko’s other honors include making ECAC All-Conference and being named ECAC Specialist of the Year.

An accounting major, Tereshko hopes to become a Certified Public Accountant and work in tax accounting after graduation.
