Switzerland County used a big fourth quarter to pull away to a 62-50 win over sectional foe Austin at home in the Pacers’ boys basketball season opener Saturday.

Trailing 25-21 at halftime, Switzerland pulled even after three quarters and then ran away in the fourth. Three-straight 3-pointers by Zach Weaver, Landon Wilks and Ben Hicks staked the Pacers to a 52-39 lead with 4:25 to go and the Swiss held on from there for the win.

Senior Damian Breeck was 12-for-13 from the free-throw line and scored a career-high 32 points and added 15 rebounds to lead the Pacers. Wilks had 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists in an impressive all-around performance.

Switzerland, now 1-0 on the season, hosts Trimble County Friday and travels to Crothersville Saturday.
