- Carroll County's Lauren Moore has been named the North Central Kentucky Conference Girls Basketball Player of the Week.

Moore, a junior forward, averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Panthers' two first NCKC games two weeks ago.

- Applications for the Lide White Boys & Girls Club's Little League Wrestling are currently available for all boys and girls four years of age through fifth grade.

Athletes who are currently participating on a middle or junior high school team are not eligible for Little League meets or the Little League Tournament but they can be a candidate for the Club Madison team.

Applications are due Feb. 21 and the cost is $30 for Lide White Club members (includes a T-shirt) and $40 for non-members (includes a limited membership and T-shirt). A $10 late fee will be added after Feb. 21. Wrestling begins March 3 and runs through April 24.

- The Madison Consolidated Education Foundation will host its annual Hoops For Education on Friday at Salm gymnasium. Doors open at 6 p.m. with games beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The event, featuring teams from local law enforcement, Grote Industries and Madison alumni, will raise money for Madison Consolidated Schools high school and junior high school academic teams.

Adult tickets are $5, student tickets are $3 and children ages pre-school and younger can enter for free.
