Madison Junior High’s swim teams wrapped up the 2019 season with a split with Seymour at home on Monday.

The girls won 77-60 while the boys fell 72-71. The combined score saw the Bears win 148-132 to cap off a fourth-straight undefeated season.

“It was an outstanding season and there were several time cuts, records broken and more personal best times in the pool tonight,” Madison coach Ashley Schutte said. “We had a number of personal challenges overcome, fears conquered, and growth abound — all things no score will ever capture adequately. So, so proud of these kiddos and so thankful to have each of them on our team — it truly is a great group of kids and they are wonderful ambassadors for our school!”

Winners for the girls were: Andie Royce-Miller, 200 free, 2:44.85; Lauren Gage, 50 fly, 33.87; and Lilly Canida, Emily Nay, Gage and Callie Anderson, 200 medley relay, 2:21.98.

Winners for the boys were: Liam Roney, 200 free, 2:16.55 and 100 free, 56.89; Peyton Ford, 50 free, 26.61; Preston Kuppler, 50 back, 34.32; and Kuppler, Gavin McMahon, Roney and Ford, 200 medley relay, 2:03.06 and 200 free relay, 1:49.64.
