— Bedford’s Gideon Coleman finished tied for third at the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour Fall 9-Hole Series event on Saturday at the Maywood Course at Bardstown Country Club in Bardstown, Kentucky.

Coleman, competing in the boys 11-12 age division, shto a six-over 42 to tie Chris Kelley of Nicholasville, Kentucky, for third, just a stroke out of the runner-up spot held by Cole Waymore, also of Nicholasville, but five strokes back of the winner, Alex Bennett of Georgetown, Kentucky.



—Madison Junior High soccer hosted Jac-Cen-Del Thursday and the “A” Team win while the “B” Team tied.

Madison “A” Team won 4-3. Scoring for Madison were Adriano Martinez, Jack Kelsey, Jack Miller, and Harrison Hall. Assists were made by Jack Miller and Liam Roney. Jack Kelsey was named MVP for the game

The “B” Team tied 2-2. Scoring for Madison were Hailey Jenkins and Molly Armbrecht. Ian Eiriksson had an assist. Leah Combs was named MVP for the game.



— The 19th annual KDH Run the Falls 5K Walk/Run will be Saturday, Sept. 30 at Clifty Falls State Park.

The event begins at 8 a.m. and ends at the Clifty Falls swimming pool parking lot and the 3.1-mile course is stays entirely on paved roadways and not the park’s hiking trails. Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m.

Medals are awarded the top finisher in each age group in both the run and walk and electronic chip timing will be used.

Early bird registration ends Sunday, Sept. 17 and costs $20 with a long-sleeve T-shirt or $15 with no shirt. Fees will be $20 after Sept. 17 without a T-shirt however a limited number of shirts will be available at a cost of $10 each.
