Carroll County’s football team opened the belated 2020 season with a 48-28 win at Ludlow on Friday.

The Panthers led 14-0 after the first quarter and 20-8 at the half before blowing out the game in the second half.

Kyle Guenthner had a huge game for Carroll, finishing with 229 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns. The senior had 140 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 19 attempts and caught two passes for 69 yards and one score. He also had an interception return for 20 yards and scored a touchdown on a kickoff return.

The Panthers defense also scored two touchdowns with Jacobi Brewer returning a fumble 45 yards for a score and Michael Riddell returning an interception 42 yards for the touchdown.

Carroll, now 1-0 on the season, hosts Grant County on Friday in its home opener.
