Hanover women’s basketball dominated the second half en route to an 84-45 win over Manchester at home on Saturday.

The Panthers led 16-12 after the first quarter and 40-28 at halftime and then turned on the jets in the second half to outscore the Spartans 24-10 in the third and 20-7 in the fourth to win the game going away.

Hanover shot 46 percent (31-for-67) from the floor while holding the Spartans to 27 percent (17-for-62). The Panthers also went 18-for-21 from the free-throw line.

Claire Cromer and Alexis Nall scored 14 points each to lead Hanover with Nall also pulling down 18 rebounds — just one short of her career high — for her team-leading 11th double-double of the season.

Manchester (4-18, 2-13 HCAC) did not have a player reach double figures in scoring with Nicole Weaver’s nine points off the bench leading the way.

Hanover, now 16-7 overall and 12-4 in HCAC play, has locked up at least the No. 3 seed in the upcoming HCAC tournament, and currently stands two games back of Rose-Hulman for the No. 2 seed. The Panthers host fourth-place Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) on Wednesday and then close out the regular season at fifth-place Defiance (Ohio) on Saturday.
