Transylvania (Ky.) used a big third quarter to pull away for an 84-62 win over Hanover in women’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference basketball Wednesday in Lexington, Kentucky.

The host Pioneers led only 43-38 at halftime but outscored Hanover 32-12 in the third quarter alone to blow open the game.

Alexis Nall scored 18 points and Claire Cromer added 11 to lead Hanover, which shot just 36 percent (24-for-66) from the floor overall and 2-of-16 (13 percent) on 3-pointers.

Ashton Woodard scored 18 points, Celia Kline and Shelby Boyle had 16 each and Zenoviah Walker had 14 for Transylvania. The Pioneers were 29-of-57 (51 percent) from the floor and hit 16-of-35 (46 percent) of their 3-point attempts.

Hanover, now 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the HCAC, travels to Bluffton (Ohio) on Saturday.
