The playing surface at Alumni Stadium on the campus of Hanover College is undergoing a face lift this week by the Motz Group. The artificial surface, which was originally laid down by Motz in 2008, has been taken up and a new playing surface will be installed over the next few weeks. Hanover’s field, which is the home to the school’s football, lacrosse and track & field teams, has seen plenty of action in its 12 years of existence and was ready for replacement. The field was one of the few artificial surfaces in the area when it was installed, but is just one of many now. Carroll County High School installed a new artificial turf field several years ago and installation of Madison’s new artificial surface is set to begin in a few weeks. Hanover’s new field will be ready for football practice in the fall. (Staff photos by David Campbell)
