Hanover women's soccer coach Jim Watts and four members of the Panthers' team is leading the USA D-3 All Stars during the squad's tour of Brazil through June 5.

Watts will guide a 16-player roster which includes junior Rachel Alvis, sophomores Anna Cornacchione and Elaine Simpso and recent Hanover graduate Chloe Hutchinson.

The USA D-3 All Stars will compete against top under-22 club teams from the Brazilian states of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The squad will practice two days in Orlando, Fla., before flying to Sao Paulo, Brazil. The team will play two matches in Jundiai and one in Sao Paulo before wrapping up the tour with a contest in Rio de Janeiro.

In addition to competition, the trip will also provide the USA D-3 All Stars with educational, social and cultural outreach opportunities and also allow the athletes to visit schools and historical sites.

"This tour is designed to expose players to a great soccer experience while providing a once in a lifetime opportunity for educational, cultural and social growth," said Ron Smith of USA Sports Tours & Events.

Watts, a three-time Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference coach of the year, will be joined on the bench by Hanover assistant coach David Green and former standout Kaitlin McCulloch, who was an all-American for the Panthers in 2012.

Alvis, a midfielder and forward, was named a second-team all-American after leading Hanover to an 18-2-2 record last fall. A two-time all-Great Lakes Region and all-conference honoree, she scored five goals and led the Panthers with 83 shots and eight assists.

Cornacchione was named the Heartland Conference's co-most valuable offensive player and first-team all-Great Lakes Region. The forward led the Panthers with 32 points, including a team-high 14 goals and four assists.

Simpson, a forward, was a second-team all-HCAC selection. She was second on Hanover's squad in scoring with seven goals and 18 points and also posted four assists.

Hutchinson, a back, earned first-team all-league honors after keying a Hanover defense which allowed just 11 goals in 20 matches with 10 shutouts. She also scored one goal and had four assists.

The USA D-3 roster also includes: Kimberly Canfield, Arcadia; Maddy Clappin, New York University; Lucinda Combs, Rose-Hulman; Vicky DiNatale, Springfield College; Julia Favorito, Middlebury; Lexi Giusti, Lesley; Aly Hoffman, Saint Benedict; Zoe Kurth, Saint Norbert; Hannah Landerholm, Lesley; Hannah Matlack, Dickinson; Melissa Menta, New York University; and Peggy Renier, Saint Benedict.
