Hanover College women's tennis remained unbeaten in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday, sweeping Earlham 9-0 at the L.S. Ayres Sports Complex.

The Panthers, held Earlham (2-1, 0-1 HCAC) to just eight wins throughout the match.

Results were: Singles - No. 1 Danielle Miller (HC) d. Claire Welsh (E) 6-1, 6-1; No. 2 Mackenzie Spicer (HC) d. Jessica Childs (E) 6-1, 6-1; No. 3 Alexis Taylor (HC) d. Jordyn Grimes (E) 6-0, 6-0; No. 4 Mallory Noble (HC) d. Annie Foley (E) 6-0, 6-0; No. 5 Kelsey Jones (HC) d. Gabrielle Williams (E) 6-0, 6-0; No. 6 Allison Poston (HC) won by default. Doubles - No. 1 Danielle Miller, Spicer (HC) d. Olivia Engle, Welsh (E) 8-2; No. 2 Noble, Poston (HC) d. Childs, Grimes (E) 8-1; No. 3 Jones and Kalynne Miller (HC) d. Foley, Williams (E) 8-1.

Hanover (3-1, 2-0 HCAC) travels to face Oakland City and Brescia (Ky.) on Saturday.

Cubs fall 5-0 to Bulldogs

Madison boys tennis struggled to find consistency losing 5-0 to Hoosier Hills Conference opponent New Albany Tuesday on the road.

"All matches were competitive," Madison coach Desna Ratcliff said. "New Albany is a very deep and good team. Despite having some shining moments, we were unable to put the shots and strategy together consistently when the points mattered to win games."

Madison (6-4) competes in the Scott County Invitational on Saturday in Scottsburg.
