Hanover's women's soccer team defeated Franklin 2-1 Tuesday in Franklin.

Christa Hurak, a senior from Lexington, Ky., and Sirena Isadore, a freshman from Cincinnati, each scored to lead Hanover to its 12th victory of the season.

The dozen wins represent the third-highest win total in the history of the program for the Panthers, now 12-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the Heartland Conference. The victory also marks Hanover's 17th win in a row against Franklin dating to the 1996 campaign.

Isadore scored late in the 12th minute to get Hanover on the scoreboard. Emily Spraul, a freshman from Cincinnati, and Autry Graham, a freshman from Versailles, Ky., assisted on the tally, which was Isadore's third of the season.

Hurak, who fired a team-high four shots, bumped the margin to 2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 42nd minute. The goal was Hurak's first of the season and 17th of her career.

Hanover's defense limited Franklin (5-7-3, 1-4-3 HCAC) to just two shots in the first period. The Grizzlies had three shots in the second half and cracked the scoring column in the 64th minute on a goal by Danielle Owens.

The Panthers finished with a 14-5 advantage in shots, including a 10-2 margin in the first period.

Goaltender Bethann Hancock, a senior from Lexington, Ky. had a pair of saves.

Hanover travels to Defiance (Ohio) on Saturday in its final regular season match.
