Madison golf beats Scottsburg

Madison’s girls golf team picked up a 199-205 victory over Scottsburg at home on Thursday.

Sophomore Keara Eder racked up another low-medalist performance with a 40 while Jenna Imel had a 46, Alivia Brawner had a 56, Grace Bronkella had a 57 and Gibson James had a non-scoring 64.

“It was a bit of an ugly win after last week’s match over Floyd where we shot our season low, but there were some bright spots. Plus a win is a win,” Madison coach Jake Shockley said. “Overall, our ball-striking is very good, Keara played well for eight holes, and Jenna played the best she’s played all year. Getting around the green can be an adventure for us sometimes as a team, but we just have to keep working.”

Avery Bottorf led Scottsburg with a 42, Makayla Barger had a 50, Kaylyn Sebastian had a 54, Jordyn Johnson a 57 and Kensley Gambrell a 59.

Madison travels to Jennings County on Monday.
