Madison finished eighth in the Hoosier Hills Conference girls swim championships Saturday at New Albany.

The Lady Cubs had only two individuals finish in the top 10 but still had several strong wins.

"Conference is always a difficult meet for us as we are one of the only schools where our swimmers don't swim year round," Madison coach Stacy Crawley said. "That being said, we had a couple swimmers with season best swims. Keelin Watkins had a lifetime best swim cutting over two seconds in the 100 breaststroke and Maggie Lee cut time in the 100 free. Amber Umila and Taylor Phillips both had season best swims in the 100 backstroke. Our 200 medley relay team consisting of Amber Umila, Keelin Watkins, Tess Lemen and Taylor Phillips cut over four seconds for a best time this year."
