The 2018-19 wrestling season came to an end for four local grapplers at the IHSAA Evansville Semistate on Saturday.

Southwestern’s Cameron Canada, Adam Anderson and Mitchell Cline, as well as Madison’s Tucker Adams, all bowed out with first-round losses.

Canada, wrestling at 120 pounds, lost by fall in 1:48 to Edgewood senior Noah Gardner in the opener. Canada, a sophomore, finishes his season with a 15-10 record.

Anderson, at 145 pounds, lost a 9-5 decision to Avon senior Camden Chatterton in the first round. Anderson, a senior, finishes the season with a 25-7 record.

Cline, at 152 pounds, was pinned in 42 seconds by Avon senior Nathan Conley, who finished third in the event and earned a berth to the state finals. Cline, a junior, finishes the season with a 22-8 record.

Adams, at 220 pounds, lost by fall in 26 seconds at the hands of South Spencer junior Will Stewart, who ended up placing third and advancing to state. Adams, a junior, finishes the season with a 20-8 record.
