The Cincinnati-based Motz Group began its second artificial turf project in the county when it started construction on Madison High School’s Cub Field last week. The Motz Group was already working on the field Hanover College’s Alumni Stadium last month, refurbishing the same field it had originally installed in 2008. This year marks the first time that Madison will have an artificial surface and will be the sixth school in the Hoosier Hills Conference to make the move to fieldturf, just in time for the Cubs’ final season in the league. The $1.3 million project is expected to take three months and according the athletic director Joe Bronkella, should be ready for Madison’s season opener Aug. 21 against Paoli.
