Trimble County’s singles player Hannah Miracle and both doubles teams went undefeated on the first day of the North Central Kentucky Conference girls tennis tournament in Bedford on Tuesday.

Miracle, playing at No. 1 singles, knocked off Gallatin County’s No. 2 player Ashton Baxter 6-1, 6-0 in the first round. Miracle then dispatched Lloyd Memorial’s Diamonique Barnett 6-0, 6-0 in the second round.

Trimble’s No. 2 singles player, Breanna Sarver, lost 6-0, 6-0 to Walton-Verona’s No. 1, Raman Dail, in the second round.

Carroll County’s Ashley Spenneberg scored a 6-4, 6-3 win over Eminence’s Alyssa Harger in the opening round but lost 6-0, 6-0 to Walton-Verona’s Aman Dail in the second round.

Johnica Spenneberg, Carroll’s No. 2 singles player, lost her opening-round match 6-0, 6-0 to Eminence’s Skylar Noyes.

In doubles action, Trimble County’s No. 2 team of Jessica Spurr and Sarah Shields defeated Lloyd Memorial’s No. 2 of Nikki Deward and Kenzie Gentry 6-0, 6-3 in the second round. The Raiders’ No. 1 group of Michaela Hines and Isabella White were unable to get their match in and will play Gallatin County’s Brittany Merida and Kennedy Bledsoe on Wednesday for the right to advance to the semifinals.

Carroll County’s No. 1 doubles team of Lorinda Bennett and Carmen Simo lost to Gallatin’s Merida and Bledsoe 6-3, 6-0 in the opening round.

The boys side of the tourney got under way Monday with singles and doubles matches at Trimble County.

In singles action, Carroll County’s J.J. Fernandez defeated Eminence’s Mason Ford 6-2, 6-4 in the second round. Fernandez was to face Tyler Burk of Lloyd Memorial in the semifinals on Wednesday for the right to face Owen County’s Chase Merchant in the championship.

In doubles action, Carroll County’s No. 1 team of David Jimenez and Alex Hedge lost 6-3, 6-2 to Eminence’s No. 2 squad of John Cooper and Johnathan Zarcillo on the opening round. The Panthers’ No. 2 team of Zack Martin and Austin Harsin then lost 6-0, 6-0 to Eminence’s No. 1 duo of Silvestre Reza and Hunter Gibson 6-0, 6-0.

The final doubles match along with semifinals and championships for both the boys and girls is today at Trimble County.
