Switzerland County outscored Rising Sun 16-9 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 54-49 non-conference win in girls basketball Friday in Vevay.

The Pacers, now 2-1 on the season, trailed 40-38 entering the final frame but saved their best for last.

"I am really proud of our girls, especially in the home stretch," Switzerland County coach Ashley Chase said. "I didn't think we started the game out well but we finished the way we wanted to. We battled foul trouble and got beat on the boards but those are two details that can be corrected in our time off between our next game against Milan."

Switzerland shot just 35 percent (19-for-54) from the floor and lost the rebounding battle 28-19 but committed just 12 turnovers in the game.

Senior Emily White and freshman Kelsi Konkle scored 14 points each to lead the Pacers while freshman Brooke Todd scored 10.

"Emily White played her last game as a Lady Pacer tonight and I am really proud of her effort and leadership," Chase said. "Our freshmen stepped up on both ends of the game and made some clutch free throws for us and that's what big-time players do. I have 10 unselfish players that are working together and buying into our philosophy. I really like our odds when our girls do those two things together."

Switzerland now has over a week off before visiting Milan on Nov. 27.
