The Madison Parks Department honored 28 young men and women for the outstanding sportsmanship during the 2019 season by awarding them the Bob Kring Memorial Sportsmanship Awards.

This honor is named in memory of Bob Kring, who as a longtime employee of the Madison Parks Department and a major contributor to the local baseball scene.

The criteria for this honor is that the recipient always gives 100 percent effort, plays the game the right way, respects teammates and those on the opposing teams, and plays hard and has fun.

Award winners were:

Girls Rookie — Dixie Helton, Aliza Mehl and Daylee Smith.

Boys Rookie — Parker Hamilton, Patrick Kahn, Kellen Martin, Mason Wells and Amari Wright.

Girls Minor — Abbi Broadus, Layla Collins, Haley Ferguson, Paisley Hendricks, Kendal Holbrook and Madalyn Yarling.

Boys Minor — John Bachman, Brock Brandon, Vincent Chen, Colton Deputy, Elijah Norman, Caden Vaught and Talon Wynn.

Girls Major — Hillarie Buchanan, Hannah Richart and Mashya Wells.

Boys Major — Colton O’Neal, Zachary Rice, Camden Sever and Adam Traylor.
