— Shawe Junior High’s boys basketball teams split a pair of games against Seymour in their home opener on Monday.

The seventh grade lost 25-17. Miguel Morales led the Hilltoppers with seven points and Ben Guetig led the team in rebounding.

The eighth grade team jumped out to a 19-2 lead and never looked back rolling to a 49-17 win. Charlie Liter led the group with nine points, Philip Kahn had eight, Ryker Brooks scored seven, and Jacob Hertz and Zachary Gish had six each.

— Madison Athletics is selling its sports passes in the athletic office prior to the winter season.

Pass Prices are: Family of four, $150; Individual, $50; Senior/Student, $30. Come to Door 5 during the school day or at a winter event during the season to purchase.

Madison is also now reserving seats for boys/girls basketball games. You can reserve by coming to the athletic office located at Door 5, or reserve at a basketball game. If you wish to reserve your seating for Boys/Girls season, please do so before Jan. 1. If you do not reserve prior to Jan. 1, the seat will open up for next year.

— The Madison Parks Department is now accepting applications for its 2019 Cheerleading Program.

The program is open to those ages five through sixth grade and costs $50, $10 for 2019 football cheerleaders.
